NFV Management and Orchestration is complex – so we fixed that. NetOS simplifies the process of adding, onboarding, and managing services such that the entire process becomes quick and easy. Network OS (NetOS) is an edge-native middleware software designed to support a wide range 3rd party Virtualized Network Functions and Container Network Functions. NetOS provides four functions:
Open virtual switch with higher performance and easier troubleshooting
Programmable data plane with per user, device, and vLAN policy enforcement
Orchestrated service stitching of VMs

Simplify VNF Management and Orchestration (MANO)
Rather than sacrificing features, performance, or time to navigate complex orchestration tools, NetOS empowers your team to move quickly, maintain a highly performant network, and rapidly provision new value-added services. Designed for uCPEs and servers, NetOS provides an intuitive, user-friendly means to simplify orchestration and allows you to manage one node as opposed to a cluster of nodes. Since it’s built on the SD-Edge Platform, it’s natively feature-rich, which allows you to leverage a plethora of services without having to invest in another tool.
NetOS can also act as a switch – its design removes latency seen in common switches, and its packet processing outperforms Open vSwitch (OVS). The key benefit of NetOS is its ability to dynamically offload from the uCPE to the cloud or in third-party VNFs to increase throughput by 20x for peak days and times. Plus, use the same software solution for low-scale and high-scale deployment sites.
Small Footprint, Large Impact on Network Performance
NetOS only requires 2 cores and 2GB of RAM (1 core for MANO and 1 core for our data plane) to achieve 1 Gbps of full duplex. Plus it supports dynamic cloud-offload, and its software descriptor allows adding more cores for better throughputs beyond 1Gbps.
NetOS includes an open, programmable data plane and supports multi-vendor service stitching and orchestration. It comes equipped with its own set of REST APIs, all of which adhere to ETSI SOL-003. Built to support common standards, NetOS supports the TR-069 specification, the TR-181 data model, and also supports SNMP Management Information Base (MIB)s for application-level data.
