Our SD-Edge Platform is a cloud-native, software-defined edge capable of delivering network functions through software including BNG, PE Routing, (T)WAG, 5G AGF, SASE and CGNAT. The SD-Edge is transforming carrier networks with speed, flexibility, agility and elastic scalability. Being software-based and running on commercial off the shelf servers (COTS) gives our platform the ultimately flexibility in deployment options.
One of those deployment options is to run on a bare metal server without virtualization. This behaves much like a network switch or appliance and is a good solution for fixed carriers that are not yet ready to support a virtualized or cloud-native environment like the mobile operators.
Benu is qualified on KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine), VMware, and OpenStack virtualized environments. We partner closely with both VMware and Red Hat and can drop into existing virtualized environments including those used for mobile network cores.
Benu is qualified on CNCF-based Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, and VMware Telco Cloud Platform (TCP). Most of the 5G mobile cores are running cloud-native, and our software can easily drop into these environments so that operations teams can leverage the same operational framework across fixed and mobile subscribers.
Managing cloud-native environments can be intimidating for your network engineering staff.
By running the Benu CGNAT solution in a fully-managed cloud-native solution such as Amazon Web Services Outposts, service provider personnel don’t have to worry about the underlying infrastructure. Instead, they can continue to focus on the network, ensuring end customers experience high performance, reliable, and secure Internet service.
In addition, the ecosystem of AWS application partners expands the potential for new revenue-generating services.
